Gordon Longhorns: Weathering the Storm (2025)
Few teams in the history of Six-Man football have had as dominant a 2-year run as the Gordon Longhorns. After winning back-to-back state championships in 2023 and 2024, and with their star players returning for one final season in 2025, it seemed predestined that the Longhorns would breeze to a 3-peat. But 3 months before the 2025 season kicked off, the town was hit by a tornado with winds in excess of 100 miles per hour. In a span of minutes, the Longhorns lost all of their athletic facilities, including the football field. But the town recovered from the devastation, and now the team has more to play for than accolades or another trophy.

Bryce Biros: The Face of 'TPW' at Gunter (2024)
There is only one team in the entire state of Texas with an active 3-year state championship streak: Gunter. The Tigers completed a 3-peat by shutting out Woodville in Arlington, thanks to a senior class with a ton of talent, and a teammate who has shown everyone what it truly means to be tough.

Byron Washington: More Than a Picture (2024)
DeSoto's 6-foot-8, 360-pound offensive lineman went viral thanks to one iconic photograph at the 2023 State Championship game. But Byron Washington's story goes far beyond that picture, as he dealt with life-altering adversity that forced him to grow up early

Terry Bussey: Talent, Tragedy and Triumph in Timpson (2023)
Despite hailing from a town of fewer than 1,000 people, Terry Bussey has drawn the attention of the entire state of Texas since he was a freshman in 2020. The stats are hard to fathom...but Terry's story is truly unbelievable

Keylan Abrams: Playing With Fire (2024)
The statewide sack leader in 2023 plays with a passion that can't be contained. But DeSoto's senior defensive end is chasing more than quarterbacks: he's spending the little spare time he has as an intern with the local fire department
Ronald Bell: Remembering Tre (2024)
Anna, TX has experienced a population boom in recent years. One of those new residents is a wide receiver on the football team whose long journey has been filled with grief and gun violence. But in a place where they've found peace, Ronald Bell and his family are still remembering a loved one they lost along the way
Colin Simmons: A Brother's Love (2023)
One of the most fearsome pass rushers in the country, Duncanville's Colin Simmons plays for a purpose that goes beyond fame or fortune: he wants the best life possible for his autistic half-brother Clayton

Reshaping the Sidelines (2024)
State Championship Saturday in 2023 was an historic one, as it featured the first 2 title games with African-American head coaches on each sideline - both in Texas' largest classfication. The recent success of coaches like Reginald Samples and Claude Mathis has begun opening doors for other Black head coaches around the state

Austin Westlake: 3616 (2021)
In the midst of its reign over the highest classification in Texas high school football, Austin Westlake endured two tragic losses that caused the community to rally around each other and remember the impact that Jackson Coker and Jake Ehlinger had during their time as Chaparrals

Dodge-Ball is Back (2024)
After winning his 7th state championship as a head coach in 2021, Todd Dodge stepped away from the game to spend time with his family. Three years later, Dodge shook up the Texas high school football landscape by returning to coach at Lovejoy. But family remains a priority for Dodge, who hopes to share the state championship stage with his son Riley again...this time as champions rather than competitors
